Tshwane Homelessness Research

“[T]he street homeless are the proverbial skeletons at the feast, the excluded poorest who enter unobserved and stand by gaunt and starved, terrifying to the invited guests but deprived of any capacity to join the party.” (Cross et al. 2010:18)

The Homeless Summit is a collaborative project between the University of Pretoria, the University of South Africa, the City of Tshwane, and the Tshwane Homelessness Forum that represents various NGOs, FBOs and homeless communities. The Summit is both an event and a process and is endorsed by the city’s Executive Mayor.
